Ian Tomasic - Secretary
Ian Tomasic is a dedicated legal professional passionate about supporting first responders. As Secretary of SWEL, Ian brings his extensive legal expertise and commitment to public service to help advance the organization’s mission of empowering Veterans and First Responders. Ian began his career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office, where he successfully tried felony-level cases and argued before the Kansas Court of Appeals. He later joined Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) within the Department of Homeland Security, specializing in human rights and denaturalization cases.
Ian’s experience in law and daily collaboration with law enforcement have given him a unique perspective on the challenges first responders face. He is deeply committed to supporting programs focusing on their mental health and well-being.
Ian holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas State University and a Juris Doctorate from Washburn University Law School, where he graduated with Dean’s Honors.
Outside of his legal career, Ian enjoys supporting community initiatives and is dedicated to helping expand SWEL’s impact. His background and passion for giving back make him a valuable asset to the organization.
