David Crenshaw - Board of Directors

Master Sergeant (MSG) retired, David R. Crenshaw, began his military career in 2000, as a Military Police Officer. Following his assignment to the 42nd Infantry Division’s Military Police Company he was mobilized for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. MSG Crenshaw was assigned to Task Force Liberty, conducting Protective Service Operations for executive level Department of Defense leaders, dignitaries, and Division level commanders.

Upon his return MSG Crenshaw served in the 218th and 508th Military Police Companies, respectfully, before being accepted into, the 254th Regiment (Combat Arms). He served as a senior instructor and Non Commissioned Officer in Charge for institutional training. MSG Crenshaw concurrently began his professional New Jersey public service career in 2002 as a

9-1-1 Telecommunications Operator for the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. He served in this position until 2006.

 

In 2006 MSG Crenshaw was sworn in as a Firefighter with the Township of Neptune Fire Department. He stayed in this position before accepting career advancement into Law Enforcement in 2007. That year MSG Crenshaw was sworn in as Patrolman with the Township of Middletown Police Department. MSG Crenshaw assumed his patrol duties until 2011, when he was temporarily assigned duty with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Narcotics Strike Force, as an undercover Detective. He completed his tour of duty in 2012 and resumed to patrol duties.

In 2014 MSG Crenshaw was hired by the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office as a full time Detective/State Investigator. He was assigned to the Narcotics and Criminal Enterprise: Narcotic Strike Force/Bayshore Task Force & Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT). Additionally, MSG Crenshaw served as a Police Academy Instructor with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office

from 2012 -2017. He instructed the Basic Course for Police Officers, Special Law Enforcement Officers and Corrections Officers with an emphasis on Emergency Medical Response, Physical Training and Drill Ceremony.

MSG Crenshaw now serves as an Ambassador for K9s For Warriors. He advocates and public speaks on veteran issues related to PTSD and suicide. He aided in the unanimous congressional passing and implementation of the law, Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers Act. He recently became a Board Member with the LT. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Foundation, a grassroots organization whose mission is to honor the life and memory

of U.S. Army LT. Dennis W. Zilinski II by providing support to improve the morale and welfare of members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. Additionally, by providing Scholarships, the Fund invests in the future of high school students who embody the leadership qualities and community spirit of LT. Zilinski.
